Psychology & Clinical Psychology

Psychology studies how people think, feel and behave. To practise as a licensed clinical psychologist in India you must complete a programme approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). From 2026-27, the RCI route is the Master in Clinical Psychology (M.Clin.Psy), replacing the M.Phil in Clinical Psychology, which took its last admissions in 2025-26.

Mental-health needs are rising among students and adults, and India has far too few qualified professionals. Psychology also opens counselling, HR, user research and education careers.

1. 1Take CUET-UG or your chosen university's entrance for a BA/B.Sc. in Psychology.
2. 2Aim for good grades, then apply to an RCI-approved M.Clin.Psy programme.
3. 3Register with RCI to practise as a clinical psychologist.
