A quick, official-source summary of seven destinations Indian families often overlook, each with a different strength: cost, scholarships, post-study work or a fast-growing job market.

The best-fit country depends on your subject, budget and long-term plan. Some of these offer full government scholarships or generous post-study work rights.

• ✓Ireland: after graduating you can stay to work (Stamp 1G): 12 months after a Level 8 (bachelor's honours) award, 24 months after Level 9 (master's).
• ✓France: Indian nationals with a master's (from any country) who studied at least one semester in France can get a 5-year short-stay Schengen visa (Campus France India).
• ✓Netherlands: an 'orientation year' residence permit gives a year of unrestricted work rights after graduating (apply within 3 years of graduation).
• ✓Singapore: the government Tuition Grant greatly reduces fees at NUS, NTU and SMU, in return for a 3-year bond to work for a Singapore entity after graduating.
• ✓Japan: the government MEXT scholarship for undergraduates is applied for through the Embassy of Japan in India.
• ✓South Korea: the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) covers undergraduate study, through the Korean Embassy or universities.
• ✓New Zealand: post-study work visa for graduates. From 16 November 2026, there is also a new 6-month Short-Term Graduate Work Visa (NZQCF levels 5–7).

• •Strong Class 12 results; English tests (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/Duolingo) as each university asks.
• •Ireland proof of funds from 30 June 2025: €10,000 per year of study.
