Become a Teacher — ITEP (Integrated B.Ed.)

The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) combines a bachelor's degree with a B.Ed. in four years. Admission is through NCET, conducted by NTA for NCTE, at selected institutions including IITs, NITs, central universities and Regional Institutes of Education.

It saves a year compared with a degree followed by a separate B.Ed., and it is the direction national policy (NEP 2020) is moving for teacher preparation.

• ✓Offered at respected institutions such as IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bhubaneswar, NIT Calicut and RIEs.
• ✓Teaching is stable, respected and needed in every town.

• •Class 12 pass. Most institutions ask for about 50% aggregate; check each institute's rules.
• •Qualifying NCET is mandatory for ITEP admission.

• •Your chosen subject (for example Maths, Physics, History or Commerce).
• •Education theory, child development and teaching methods.
• •School internships and supervised teaching practice.
