When do I use S∞ = a/(1−r) in Sequences & Series, and what does it mean?

sum of an infinite geometric series.

S∞ = a/(1−r) — sum of an infinite geometric series. Use it when: only when |r| < 1. Always check the condition holds before plugging in numbers.

Key point

S∞ = a/(1−r)
