BDS — Become a Dentist

BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is India's professional dental degree, regulated by the Dental Council of India under the Dentists Act, 1948. Admission is through NEET-UG, the same exam as MBBS, so every NEET aspirant can also aim for BDS.

Many NEET students only think of MBBS. BDS uses the same exam, often needs a lower rank, and leads to a respected clinical career, specialisation (MDS) and the option of running your own clinic.

• •Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, dental materials and oral pathology.
• •Conservative dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics and oral surgery.
• •Supervised clinical work on patients, then a one-year rotating internship.
