Study in Australia — Undergraduate

You apply directly to Australian universities (or through an agent) and receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for the Student visa (subclass 500). Australia sets a national planning level for new international students.

Under the India–Australia trade agreement (AI-ECTA), Indian graduates get longer post-study work visas than most nationalities.

• ✓Post-study work (485 visa) for Indians: 2 years after a bachelor's, 3 years after a bachelor's with first-class STEM honours, 3 after a master's, 4 after a PhD.
• ✓Work up to 48 hours per fortnight during term.
• ✓Many universities offer merit scholarships for international students.

• •Visa English minimums: IELTS 6.0, PTE Academic 47 or TOEFL iBT 67 (at-home online tests aren't accepted; universities may ask for more).
• •Funds: AUD 29,710 for living costs, plus 12 months of fees and travel, or parents' income of AUD 87,856.
• •485 visa age limit: 35 or under (up to 50 for research master's and PhD).

• •Majors across engineering, health, IT, business and sciences, often with work placements.
