What it is

Mixed cropping blends crops with no set pattern; intercropping plants them in definite rows.

Answer

In mixed cropping two or more crops are grown together on the same field at the same time with no fixed pattern, mainly to reduce the risk of total crop failure. In intercropping two or more crops are grown together in a definite row pattern (for example, a few rows of one crop then a few of another) to use nutrients and space efficiently and to help control pests.
